Public Information, Education and Relations (PIER) is one of the core services for Lee County EMS and is being developed on a continual basis in conjunction with the State EMS Plan and the national PIER program. The goal of PIER is to provide up-to-date information to the citizens and visitors of Lee County, so they may be aware of their EMS system and have access to information and education to enhance their daily living. PIER is very dynamic and has several programs which are being utilized on a constant basis. Examples include:
- Lee County EMS can help arrange an instructor for Heartsaver First Aid, CPR and Automated External Defibrillation (AED) Training throughout Lee County.
- Speakers Bureau – Should you need a speaker or presentation for your organization or civic club. One of the many programs that EMS speaks on is “Make the Right Call”, a nationally recognized program to improve the use of the 911 system through proper education. Components include: Who To Call, When To Call, When Not To Call, and What To Do Until Help Arrives.
- Ambulance Tour – If you are interested in having an EMS ambulance and crew visit your school or summer program, these visits can be scheduled in advance. The ambulance crew can discuss the EMS systems and the services they deliver when calling 9-1-1.
