Lee County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a Florida-certified ground Advanced Life Support (ALS) provider. Lee County Paramedics and Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) work under the direction of emergency physicians, and provide care on-scene and during transport to the most appropriate medical facility.
Lee County EMS is a division of Lee County Public Safety. Public Safety is a department of the Lee County Board of County Commissioners.
Lee County EMS covers more than 1,000 square miles with 36 ALS ambulances and two ALS non-transport units. Each ALS ambulance consists minimally of a Florida-certified Paramedic and EMT.
In FY 2012/2013, Lee County EMS was dispatched to more than 80,000 calls for service.
