| What if my street sign is missing? |
Is your street maintained by Lee County? If you are unsure, go to
Lee County Dept. of Transportation
Traffic Section to verify whether your street is maintained by Lee County. Lee County Sign Shop will
replace your sign at no cost to the residents.
Property owners along privately owned and maintained roadways are responsible for purchasing and posting street
signs at each intersection of their roadway. Gated communities and private subdivision provide their own
signage. |

| How should my address be posted? |
Careful consideration should be given to the choice of number size and posting
location for applying number addresses. If your building is on acreage and sits back off the road,
It is recommended the building number be posted visibly on the street at the entrance to the
property. Corner lot properties should have posted numbers visible
from the street it is addressed on, even if that side
of the building does not have entry.
Unincorporated Lee County has no size requirement for posted address
numbers. We recommend
that the numbers be large enough to see from road on which it is addressed, day or night and in all types of weather conditions.
Cities within Lee County may have number and location requirements.
