Lee County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is a Florida certified ground and rotor-wing Advanced Life Support Provider. Lee County Paramedics and EMTs work under the direction of Emergency Physicians, and provide care on-scene and during transport to the most appropriate medical facility.

Lee County EMS covers more than 1,000 square miles with 31 Advanced Life Support ambulances, two twin-engine helicopters, two ALS non-transport units, and on-call bicycle paramedics.  Each ambulance consists minimally of a State-certified Paramedic and EMT. In FY 2006, Lee County EMS responded to nearly 75,000 emergency calls and transported more than 1000 patients by air.
